Europe
Early in his career, Mohammed Al Amoudi collaborated with Swedish project management and technical specialists in support of major infrastructure projects in Saudi Arabia. This led to a fruitful collaboration with the Wikström family, who continue to be the managers of his Swedish-based European investment portfolio. He has a significant number of investments in European sustainable property, contracting and businesses. These latter are innovative in supporting new technology markets, notably in the cleantech and life science sectors.
In 1994, he acquired Sweden's OK Petroleum (later re-named Preem Petroleum) through Swedish-registered Corral Petroleum AB. Preem is a pioneer in the development and production of renewable fuels currently centred on development of the strategically important Lysekil Refinery Project.
His investment in Preem was reviewed in 2023 and was safely transferred by sale to Varo Energy in 2026 as part of Mohammed’s commitment to transforming his European investments into a family office portfolio with a strong ‘sustainability’ commitment. This family office portfolio will be passively held and professionally managed from Sweden in trust for the next generation.
